On December 14, Professor Fang Tao from the Department of Economics of the Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) visited the university and discussed and exchanged the cooperation projects between the two universities. Jiang Yuansheng, Dean of the School of Economics, Shen Qianling, Head of the International Cooperation Project of the College, and Yao Xia, Director of the College Administrative Office attended the meeting. Jiang Yuansheng expressed his warm welcome to Professor Tao and introduced the international exchanges and cooperation, the discipline setting and the results of the internationalization of the school. He pointed out that the school attaches great importance to international education, and the School of Economics plays an important role in the process of internationalization of our school. He also introduced the universities and cooperation projects of the college and France, the United Kingdom, the United States and other countries to Professor Fang Tao.
Professor Fang Tao expressed his gratitude for the hospitality of the college, introduced the basic situation of the Memorial University of Newfoundland and the management system of the school, and focused on the dominant disciplines of the school. He said that Newfoundland Memorial University is a high-level teaching and research university in Canada with more than 20,000 students. The school has obvious competitive advantages in tuition. In particular, he pointed out that the Newfoundland Memorial University's ocean, business, resource economics, labor economics and other dominant disciplines have strong international influence. This academic background provides a complementary platform for the in-depth cooperation between the Memorial University of Newfoundland and Sichuan Agricultural University.
The two sides will sign a memorandum of cooperation to cooperate in teacher exchange, undergraduate and postgraduate exchange, teaching and research, and teacher development.
Under the framework of the cooperation memorandum, the two parties have seriously discussed the details of the student exchange agreement and expanded and refined the content of the agreement. Agreements were reached on the professions involved, the number of exchange students, mutual recognition of credits, admission conditions, etc., and the signing plan and execution time of the agreement were determined. The two sides also put forward the vision of cooperation in the dual degree and scientific research field in the future, further deepen and strengthen cooperation in scientific research, and meet the research needs of our school. The cooperation with the Memorial University of Newfoundland will continue to expand our partner universities in North America, providing a broad platform and important opportunities for our school to internationally run and our students to expand their international vision.
